About
Hi there! My name is Ricardo Vercesi Picoto and I am the author/owner of this blog.
After studying photography in two major schools and working for about ten years as an advertising/architecture photographer as well as other odd jobs (bouncer, DJ to name a few) I met the guy who soon would become my mentor in this whole computer stuff. I began my “career” ate the time just helping assembling PCs. Soon after I was messing around with network cables and configuring software. Meanwhile my path as a photographer was competing with my new found geekness.
Somewhere along the way I began browsing the web, back in the day when having a 9600 bpm modem made you the coolest guy in town and not before long I fell in love with the concept, with the technology and the basic idea that one could be connected with the rest of the world just by being in front of a computer, in the confort of one’s home.
Since that day I have worked, studied, laughed and bled (literally) computers and networks, code and the world wide web.
My first “real” professional gig was as network tech and soon after I landed my first big break managing the company’s webpage. From that to managing all things web related was a breeze. And the rest, as they say, is history. Hopefully with a lot of blank pages still waiting to be written.
I, as many of you, tend to disperse on many things.
Work related, I’m involved with Tou Aqui Tou Aí, an Apple Certified Service Center; PerfectView and t2ws, companies that provide web development / hosting services.
Regarding things I’ve done: I’ve developed at SAPO, the portuguese leading web portal; I’ve developed the first version of Cotonete, the first and biggest on demand audion / web radio service in Portugal; I’ve developed for the portuguese Post (1st line helpdesk solutions); I did business analysis and project management for several companies; I worked as a CTO in a multinational portuguese company (Dot One); I’ve worked with the portuguese medicine regulatory agency (Infarmed). I really did a lot already, but there is still much to do.
Oh! And one other thing. I was the Editorial Council Chairman for Bit Magazine, a tech portuguese printed magazine, form November 2010 until May 2011. Since then I have written a couple of articles in Computer Arts Portugal and a couple others to a tech blog: Tecnologia.com.pt.
My personal websites are somehow addictive to me. I have a great passion for photography and maintain to photo blogs:

I am also a writer wannabe, if you will, and post my textes in my main blog (in Portuguese, mostly):
Apart from that you can find me pretty much everywhere online. From Flickr to Youtube, Gowalla and Foursquare, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and DeviantArt, I’m there.
Hope you enjoy my sites as much I enjoy developing them.
